It's the simple things in life...

This past weekend my youth group went to our annual summer camp retreat, and it was an amazing time. We're not an incredibly large group (25 kids) and the team and I plan the camp ourselves. So as I was planning the games and other activities for the students, I was hoping that they wouldn't be too boring or lame. Much to my enjoyment (because you DO NOT want 25 teenagers bored out of their minds!) they were all really into the games and activities, even though they were very simple and basic activities. We played Mafia (a classic!), did the whole orange under the chin and pass it to the next person with no hands game (only we used water balloons), and many other classic youth group games. So then it got me thinking about the age old saying that it's the simple things in life that mean the most, and so I started to think of simple things I love. Simple things like naps after church on Sundays... Late night Frostee runs... Long talks about the randomness of life... Twister... Playing poker with my family... Finding a quiet place to spend time with God... Those are the simple things that make life all the sweeter.

What are the simple things that make your day?

Watching the huge smile on my husband's face at the petting zoo. Thank goodness for hand sanitizer!

Grammmar police: the line on that graphic should read "it's the simple things in life that MATTER." Not "matters". Ugh.

A baby's smile. Not that I'm hinting to my daughter or anything. :) It's just that I get to see babies nearly every day!

Jamie, that is exactly why I needed you to be my ghostwriter... Now, listen to your mother and give her a grandkid, or you are grounded!
