So I just started this blog, as many of you faithful readers know (that would right now only consist of Jamie!), and I've already fallen a little bit behind! However, the whole reason of why this blog was created in the first place is the whole reason I am behind! I've been busy running around all over the place getting ready for my trip to Oman, and have just returned back from REI, and I must say, Teva sandals, they are not the most stylish.
On a side note: I am an avid Target shopper, and every time I go in the store, I always spend way more than I originally planned, and always buy items that I had not intended to buy. I have learned that the same is true when I go to REI, so beware!
It's crazy to think that in less than 24 hours I will be embarking on the greatest journey of my life thus far, thousands upon thousands of miles away from any family or friends (aside from Chris, who will be on the trip with me), and surrounded by a culture that is pretty much brand new to me. Not to mention the 120 degree heat! Needless to say, a lot of thoughts and emotions have been going through my mind!
I am incredibly anxious and excited to be traveling to the Middle East, and look forward to all that is in store for us. I have absolutely no idea what to expect, so I'll be sure to be taking in EVERYTHING that these eyes see. From what I understand I will be able to have internet access every so often, so look for updates from me! We will be staying in Muscat, which is the capital of Oman (you can find it on the map above), and will be going through different towns meeting all sorts of Omani people.
Pray for me that my Arabic gets wayyyy better super fast. I will miss all of you dear friends and family (but then again, its only like 10 or 11 days), but we knew this time would come eventually, I mean, you couldn't hog someone as cool as me all to yourself for too long right? The rest of the world needs to meet all that is John!
Look out Oman, here I come!
